Note: I love all my lady bloggers, and I welcome them with open arms. Anything I say below should not be taken as an insult.

WHERE ARE ALL THE MEN!?

Seriously, it’s like the opposite of a sausagefest in here (I’m thinking we should call it a fishfiesta). I thought there would be plenty of male bloggers out there because I, myself, love to write. But they are few and far between. Also, if you haven’t noticed, those who are out there seem to be in-touch with themselves and their femininity.

No, I’m being completely serious. If they’re not gay, they’re straight men who have been cheered on by the lady bloggers that fill up the Interwebz because they don’t flaunt their most masculine of attributes.

But I wonder, “Am I being stereotypical?” Am I making it all up? Are there actually male bloggers who show their chauvinistic ways?

Then I remind myself there are all those conspiracy, right-wing bloggers who keep demanding Obama show his birth certificate no matter how many times he displays it.  They’re pretty “masculine” and they often talk down to women. But I don’t want to read their blogs. I don’t want to get to know these guys, and I don’t believe women do either.

I prefer guys like Kyle Mew or Chris at Too Many Posts or The Pink Agendist!

So last night, while I cuddled up with my newest read “The Gargoyle” by Andrew Davidson (which you should check out right away!), I came across this section where the main character talks about his writing. I am at work at the moment, so I don’t have the book with me. However, he basically said that writing didn’t seem very masculine to him because you had to be in-touch with your emotions and your inner-self. And that’s just “sissy stuff”. This is coming from a character that happens to be a pornstar, and if there is any guy who knows how to be an arrogant man, it’s a guy who pleases women on a consistent basis for money, right?

Okay, maybe not.

Still, it made me think about the community we have here on WordPress and the community of men on the web. Hell, even the writing market is being dominated by women right now, and this is a good thing. I hope nobody sees this as an anti-women’s rant because I am all down with the female empowerment. No, if anything, I’m trying to congratulate these men, the ones I do see, because they are fantastic. I feel they deserve a little praise.

So here’s to you, guys. Bravo!
